I put a postcard out for Nicole (let's talk soon darling, it's been months). She called before the mail left.

I can't seem to reach Erika, I have tried and tried. Strangers have been calling me though, asking for Erika.

Exploring a lost closet, I found a picture of Tekia. A student of dads' over 20 years ago (I looked up to her). Last night, dad begins a story.... remember my student Tekia?

You know when you wake up all tingly excited, but it takes you a minute to remember why? I love that. Today, my new camera is due in the mail. My elph bit the dust at shi shi, so I've been camera-less for a week. Also? I hope to make a cedar smudge. xo

A beautiful tangle

Rang in the new year at shi shi beach via magic tea, tide-racing on glassy sand, old friends and deep currents. I tackled the slick untangling of this kelp knot for a hot minute. There are too many metaphors here for words, but damn ain't it gorgeous? xo
